Globfly’s 27th Month Angelversary

Some markers are harder than others. A decade ago, on Valentine’s Day, Globfly was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. On St. Patty’s Day, he had his first 10-hour surgery to remove his thyroids and many cancerous lymph nodes. After that, it was in and out of the hospital until it ended on 12/17/18 when nothing remained fixable in his body.

Every 17th, I honor Globfly’s memory with a favorite sweet treat of his. I thought I’d do something different for his 27th Month Angelversary because the other day, I reminisced Globfly spending the day in surgery, and he couldn’t eat all day—I choked up. I decided I would make a meal that he would’ve wanted to eat. What to make? Here’s a funny story. Every time I asked what he wanted to eat, he’d tell me one of two answers. So, Globfly, your wish is my command. We have Salisbury Steak in your honor. It’s not the same without you here, but it will have to do. I miss you dearly, still! ILYVVVVM! 💜🖖👊

Globfly’s 26th Month Angelversary

February marks Valentine’s Day, Globfly’s 26th month Angelversary today, and later in the month, Globfly’s birthday. February is the shortest month, but it is the most challenging month next to December with these markers.

On each month’s Angelversary, I select a favorite food to honor Globfly’s memory as my way of coping. Today, I chose a slice of Strawberry Soft Cream Cheese Cake from Paris Baguette to keep the LOVE theme, coloring the month red in Globfly’s memory.

If you are near a Paris Baguette, perhaps you might like to join me in this delicate treat. Here’s to you, Globfly, you may be in heaven now, but you’re not forgotten. ILYVVVVVVM! 💜🖖

Globfly’s 25th Month Angelversary

Today, on Globfly’s 25th month Angelversary, I am honoring his memory with one of his all-time favorite desserts—lemon meringue pie.

Tidbit: I lived a sheltered life before Globfly, the foodie, came into my world and nudged me onto the more adventurous culinary path. I ate for survival, not for enjoyment. Globfly was the opposite. Me? A bowl of ramen soup was the broth and noodles. Globfly? The works with veggies and protein. I hadn’t noticed lemon meringue pies until Globfly introduced us. I miss you, Globfly, more than words can say!

Globfly’s 23rd Angelversary

Today is Taco Tuesday, which seems fitting that I celebrate Globfly’s 23rd-month Angelversary with tacos. Taco Tuesday was a favorite event for Globfly. It was something he started participating in for work. He was like a kid anticipating Christmas when he sought out that month’s Taco Tuesday location. I never got to join him for Taco Tuesday, but my philosophy is better later than never.

I celebrate you with tacos today. Happy Taco Tuesday, Globfly! ILYF 💜🖖👊

On the 17th of each month, I honor Globfly’s Angelversary with one of his favorite foods. This month, I combined two of his favorites – cheesecake with homemade berry sauce. Globfly, ILYF 💜🖖👊

Remembering Globfly

Hard to believe it’s been 20 months today since Globfly journeyed to heaven. In a way, it feels like forever ago. At the same time, it feels like yesterday. This month, I am honoring Globfly’s memory with another of his favorites—Strawberry Shortcake.

If you asked him what kind of cake he wanted, he’d more likely answer, “Strawberry,” and if strawberry shortcake is on the menu, you can bet on it that he’d order that.

Globfly, you may be in heaven now, but you’re not forgotten. ILYVVVVVVM! 💜
